The Last Dinner Party at Glasgow’s Barrowland Ballroom

This was my first time seeing The Last Dinner Party, and after that show I only wish it hadn’t taken me so long. They brought their tour to the Barrowlands after playing a sold-out show at the Corn Exchange in Edinburgh the night before.

Imogen and the Knife were the support for this one, and what a support act they were. It was my first time seeing them too, and they were one of the best openers I’ve seen in a long time—especially Bloodbag, which was incredible live.

The Barrowlands was packed as everyone waited for The Last Dinner Party, who took the stage at 9pm. They opened with Agnus Dei from their latest album From The Pyre, followed by Count The Ways, which was one of my personal highlights of the set. I really think From The Pyre is one of the best albums of 2025, so it was great to hear so much of it performed on this tour.

Another standout moment was Rifle, also from From The Pyre, which sounded fantastic live and clearly went down as a crowd favourite.

Alongside the excitement for the band, the crowd was also buzzing with Scotland’s qualification for the 2026 World Cup. Georgia Davies congratulated the team on their success and their return to the tournament after a 27-year hiatus, which only added to the celebratory atmosphere.

They finished their main set with their debut single Nothing Matters before returning for an encore of This Is the Killer Speaking and Agnus Dei (Reprise). I was genuinely blown away by The Last Dinner Party—an incredible night, and I’ll definitely be seeing them again the next time they play in Glasgow.
